In the UK the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has the first ‘fast track’ Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for a newly licensed drug (or new formulation). The SMC reviews a product’s clinical and cost-effectiveness, and its assessment is used not just by the NHS in Scotland but throughout the UK.

Hayward Medical has extensive experience in researching and presenting HTA submissions to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), the SMC and the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG), as well as product classification applications to the WHO.
